Friday 20th May - Day 43

A bit of a slow start this morning, the steel roofing didn't arrive till about 10am and it arrived without the valleys. They arrived about 11am. The upside of of the delayed start was that I had a chance to finish the battons. Gaz came over looking for a start couple of times but as I wasn't confident that the roof would arrive, so he went to the marina and did some outstanding work before I called him to say game on.

It took a while before we actually got into our stride, but we finally found some rhythm. Pete was busy working on the valleys while Gaz and I worked on the roof. We managed to get the roof above our balcony and the west side of our bedroom done. I have to say that I thought we would have done more but we were at it most of the day and it was slow going. I really should have thought more about adding so many hips and valleys. A gable roof would have been so much easier...

Tomorrow we should get all the remaining roof on but I'm not too sure about the ridge capping. Fingers crossed.
